Removing transportation barriers for Tennesseans in need.
Harvey Transportation Assistance Foundation (HTAF) helps eligible Tennessee residents reach the healthcare, employment, education, and community resources they need, when a lack of reliable transportation stands in the way.
Our Mission
Harvey Transportation Assistance Foundation (HTAF) is a 501(c)(3) public charity established to remove transportation barriers that keep individuals and families from reaching the healthcare, employment, education, and community resources they need. Transportation is one of the most common — and most overlooked — obstacles standing between Tennesseans and the services that support their health and independence. HTAF exists to close that gap.
As a registered 501(c)(3) public charity, HTAF relies on donations and community partnerships to fund the transportation assistance it provides. Every application is reviewed individually against program eligibility, supporting documentation, and available funding — submitting an application is not a guarantee of assistance, but every request receives real review.
Programs
HTAF reviews transportation-assistance requests across the following categories.
Medical Transportation
Doctor appointments, treatment, rehabilitation, counseling, and pharmacy access.
Employment Access
Interviews, onboarding, workforce training, and employment transportation.
Education Access
School transportation, certification programs, and workforce education.
Senior Mobility
Transportation support for older Tennesseans maintaining independence.
Disability Transportation
Accessible transportation for residents with disabilities.
Veteran Transportation
Transportation support for Tennessee veterans.
Governance
HTAF is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors responsible for the Foundation's mission, finances, and program oversight. HTAF is not owned or controlled by, and does not share governance with, any commercial transportation company.
- Board of Directors sets program policy and approves the annual budget.
- Applications are reviewed under written eligibility criteria.
- Funds are used for transportation assistance and reasonable program operating costs.
Nonprofit Status
Harvey Transportation Assistance Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity under IRC Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) (EIN 41-5115030). Donations to HTAF may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Consult a tax advisor regarding your specific circumstances.
